When considering an overseas honeymoon (or even a destination wedding), the venue selection can be rather harrowing with an entire world to consider. As part of our #honeymoonhumpday series, we bring you a variety of venue profiles, honeymoon styles and tips every Wednesday to help you narrow your options down to somewhere truly amazing.

This week's honeymoon location is the incredible Aman Tokyo, Japan. The hotel has been perfectly situated near Tokyo Station and the booming Nihonbashi district to allow guests to experience the best of Tokyo. Aman is tribute to Tokyo as a contemporary city, where the enthusiasm of urban life is combined with serenity and luxury.

As the rooms and suites within Aman are set high above the capital, each room offers extraordinary views of many of Tokyo’s best attractions including, The Imperial Palace Gardens, the Tokyo Skytree and on clear days, Mt Fuji. The rooms have been designed as loft style urban sanctuaries with inspiration from traditional Japanese homes. Enjoy the likes of traditional washi paper sliding doors and accents of stone combined with modern technology and luxurious facilities.

With Aman’s towering views you can be sure that its dining options will provide a picturesque experience. The Restaurants head chef, with over 17 years of experience in Venice, expertly and uniquely combines Japanese and Italian produce. The menu provides an abundance of seafood and exceptional Italian style meats. The garden bar and lounge is the perfect place for smaller bites to eat, all day dining and signature cocktails. During the afternoon, opt for Aman’s signature afternoon tea, served on beautiful bamboo stands and accompanied with delicious Japanese herbal teas.

At Aman, good health is highly important. Head to Aman Spa for an array of treatments which have been designed around the Japanese principle of nature and balance. Enjoy these on your own or as newlyweds. It is here that you can also find Japanese style spa baths, steam rooms and expansive pool with panoramic views of Tokyo’s incredible skyline.

When in Tokyo there are many incredible sights to see and amazing things to do. Take a day trip to Mt Fuji by bullet train, or stroll around the gorgeous gardens of the Imperial Palace. Shibuya Crossing is a must for many - rumoured to be one of the busiest intersections in the world and known as the Times Square of Tokyo. Head to Takeshita to discover vibrant Tokyo, expect diverse streets of food, culture and shopping. We recommend visiting the beautiful Sensō-ji temple. Built in the 7th century, it is one of Japan’s oldest and most famous temples.

With an array of prestigious awards, you can be sure that Aman Tokyo will provide you with an experience like no other. Aman reflects the soul and personality of Japan and is the perfect location for an excitement filled, luxurious and romantic honeymoon.
